Jeff will be recognized on the 2024 league banner. - Dave pointed out that the league Registration Form is available in a printed form at our meetings and also can be obtained by scanning the QR code provided on our league email distributed in January. - He also pointed out that the league has added a new "Hat" option on this years Registration Form. Players have the option to select "Yes" to receive a hat, or "No" to not receive a hat. The hat expense will be contributed to the league and the $60.00 registration fee will remain the same. - He explained that the league will have our Online store with BJ's Embroidery once again, so that players can order additional TriState Senior Softball apparel. As we did last season, the league will receive a percentage of sales as a means to raising additional funds. We will provide more information via email or on our Facebook Page for accessing the Online store when it becomes available. - Dave advised that the scheduled March meeting will be abbreviated with normal business covered at the beginning. The Managers Clinic will follow immediately and will be for all current and potential new Managers and Coaches. The Clinic will provide a better understanding of what is expected from themselves and their players. Knowledge of the League Rules will be discussed so that it can be shared with the players. New Business: - Dave is scheduling a meeting with the County Parks to discuss raising the existing fence height to accommodate the sun shades that the league has proposed purchasing. The price of the sun shades will be approximately $800.00 due to the size requirement. - Dave asked the remaining Board members for any input, Vice President, Donnie had nothing to add. Treasurer, Tommy provided the following: The league Savings account has a balance of $3446.00 and the league checking account is $2000.00. He mentioned some of the league expenses that have increased. The County has increased each of our fields $50.00 from the previous $250.00 to $300.00 for the season. Our total field usage fee is now $900.00, not including the price of lights when needed. Softballs need to be ordered, league insurance of $400.00 will be paid. - Secretary, Mark advised that we will continue to utilize our current email distribution and the league Facebook Page to disseminate league information. He explained that our league website remains down and that our domain (tsssl.org) remains current and is being re-directed to a server back-sided off of Manning Media Inc. at no cost to the league. Dave was able to obtain approval from his employer and we will continue to work on getting a website back up. - It was mentioned that the league will be allowed to paint the 165 ft arc on all fields and this will eliminate the use of cones. - Paul suggested a re-write to a rule that was discussed at length at last months meeting. Rule concerned fielding and throwing runners out from the outfield. "An outfielder (defined as a player who starts in the grass) may not throw a batted ball directly to first base to record an out." - JT questioned whether or not the league can seek alternate pricing on uniforms and hats in an effort to save the league additional expenses from other businesses. He suggested Olympian Athletics Sports whom some of our league players know and play for. Dave advised he will look into. - Tommy announced that the league will create an Events Committee for planning and coordinating. Paul, Mark and Greg have agreed to assist Tommy with this committee. The next scheduled meeting is proposed for (Tuesday) March 12, 2024. A motion was made to close the meeting and seconded. The meeting adjourned at 6:24 PM.
