This is a Final document approved at the scheduled meeting held on (Tuesday), February 13, 2024. The Tri-State Senior Softball League (TSSSL) convened for a scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 09, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 6:58 PM. The meeting was held at Wacohu Grange Hall, 16412 National Pike, Hagerstown, MD. The following Board members were in attendance: President-Dave Barnhart, Vice President-Donnie Helman, Secretary/Webmaster-Mark Plumley, the Treasurer-Tommy Hyme was absent and his recent appointee Paul Slusarz was present. 13 additional league members were in attendance this evening. A motion to accept the November meeting minutes posted on our league website. Minutes were motioned and approved as written with no changes. Old Business: The President, Dave commenced the meeting at 6:00 PM and provided an update on old business: - He reiterated that the league Registration fee has been raised to $60.00 to keep up with inflation with uniform and hat prices increasing throughout the years. - He explained the league has raised the age for women to participate back to the original age of 40. Any players under 40 that previously committed to play in 2024 will be allowed to participate. - The new Registration form will be completed and be available on the league website soon and hard copies will be available at our next scheduled meeting. - He has received approval for our league website and domain (tsssl.org) to be backsided off of Manning Media Inc. at no cost to the league. More information to follow as we transition to this new platform. - The County Parks and Recreations Dept has agreed to install new sun shades on Fields A & B. The league will required to purchase which may cost between $450-$500 each. The shades will be allowed to stay up all year. - The league will be allowed to paint the 165 ft arc on all fields which eliminates the use of cones. - A Managers Clinic for all current and potential new Managers and Coaches is to be scheduled and attendance will be mandatory. The Clinic will provide a better understanding of what is expected from themselves and their players. Knowledge of the League Rules so that it can be shared with their players. - No Treasury report was provided due to Tommy being absent. New Business: An open discussion was initiated by Dave concerning the TSSSL Senior Softball Rules as compared to the National USSSA Rules. - A thorough review of all of the TSSSL Senior Softball rules was completed and discussed at length. Four or Five rules will be modified and posted once the changes are agreed upon. A few rules were left open and will be discussed at the Managers Clinic and any changes will be provided to the Board members for Final approval. The next scheduled meeting is proposed for (Tuesday) February 13, 2024. A motion was made to close the meeting and seconded. The meeting adjourned at 6:58 PM.
