Old Business: The Vice President, Donnie Helman commenced the meeting at 6:00 PM and provided an update on old business: - Donnie had the Treasurer, Paul provide his report. The TSSSL savings account balance remains at $3446.00 and the checking account balance is $2071.58. The league has had 21 players register so far and two sponsors checks have been received. Paul advised that we still need to purchase our softballs for this season. - Donnie explained that the league has received an estimate of $3465.00 for the installation of sun shade poles on fields A and B at Halfway Park. The league did not commit to this installation and it was being assessed further. A lengthy discussion was had to determine whether this idea is worthwhile to the league. Questions were raised as to whether or not the County Parks Commission would assist with this expense, because that was mentioned in the past. It was explained that there were not any other leagues or tenants using the fields, other than the women's tournaments on weekends. During the discussions, a motion was made to "not" pursue this installation and it was seconded. Donnie had those in attendence vote on whether or not this is a viable idea. The majority of the 18 in attendence voted "no". - Donnie went to Olympian Athletics and obtained an additional uniform and hat price estimate for the league. The price comparison is being completed against our normal supplier, BJ's Embroidery. If there is not a substantial savings or benefit, we will stay with BJ's. - Dave advised that the scheduled March meeting will be abbreviated with normal business covered at the beginning. The Managers Clinic will follow immediately and will be for all current and potential new Managers and Coaches. The Clinic will provide a better understanding of what is expected from themselves and their players. Knowledge of the League Rules will be discussed so that it can be shared with the players. New Business: - Bobby Triche asked whether the County has corrected the C field First Base line. We will address it with the Parks Commision. - Craig Metz had a couple of rules related questions that were discussed at length at last months meeting. - It was asked if the league will be allowed to paint the foul lines and 165 ft arc on all fields. The answer is yes with paint and not killing the grass. The league will convene a work day possibly before the season to get this completed. - Question was posed on Suspended Games and the current rule was read by Bob Thomas as to what the lineup will include when the game is resumed. - Question was asked if the County plans to level the outfields on Fields A and B.
