SUPPORT@PDFSIMPLI.COM Washington County Senior Softball League Tuesday, November 10, 2020 The meeting was facilitated and opened by league president Theresa Emery. There were 16 league members present along with the 4 board officers. Theresa began the meeting by reviewing the past season. Even with Covid19, we were able to get under play in mid-June and finishing in August. Congratulations were expressed to the Family Heritage team for being regular-season champs and to Boonsboro American Legion, winners of the tournament. We were also able to have our All-Star game against Cumberland Valley and had the league picnic in October. There was a time for comments and several people had recommendations:  Move all games to Halfway and get away from the unsanitary city park fields left by the geese. Tom will meet with city and church league members about suggested upgrades to city park fields this month.  Keep the same teams again next year and only fill in openings with a draft. Lots of discussion about keeping parity between teams  Extend base path length to 70’ from the current 65’. Senior regulations call for 70’.  The league create an advisory board in addition to the elected officers.  Umpires….again! Treasurer’s Report  The checking account opened the year at $4,470. At the meeting date, the total was $4,464.  The savings at the beginning of the season was $5,539 compared to the current balance of $5,743.  Not having the banquet this year saved the league over $4,000.  A donation of $250 was made to the Maugansville Special Little League.  Additional money may be given to City Park for upgrades at fields. Election of Officers No votes were taken for league officers. No one was willing to accept the nomination of the president or secretary. Tom Hyme will remain as the treasurer and Butch Hess accepted the nomination for Vice- President. Nominations will again be taken at the next meeting. Without leadership in these positions, the stability of the entire league is at risk. Contact any officer to allow your name to enter the nomination pool. Miscellaneous The law offices of Pill & Pill are expected to sponsor or be a booster of the league next year. A reminder to continue to pray for Mike Stoner in his health battle with cancer. The next meeting is tentatively set for December 8 at 6 PM. Details will follow.
